Understanding Good and Evil in Karma – God’s Leela Explained

Good and Evil in Karma

There is good in this world, and there is evil in this world. We are horrified by the actions of evil and want to condemn it. But in as much as you exist as an intricate part of this creation, so does evil.

People and things have their own nature and are acting out their own karmic stories. Some people are kind and some are mean, some people are always calm, and some are always full of anger. It is their inherent nature absorbed over many lives, and the merits and demerits of those lives that is expressed in the creation.

It is very hard to understand that the death of a child or any being happens according to their accumulated karmas performed in their past lives. As sad as it may be, take comfort in knowing that all beings have come to work out some past karma.

This creation is God’s leela or play. Whatever part you are here to perform, perform it perfectly. Whatever you are here to do, just do it to the absolute best of your ability.

The lesson of good and evil is the lesson that everything is God alone. Without the pairs of opposites, we would have no experience. How can we know of one without the knowledge of the other?

When you know that there is only one reality and that all else is unreal, and when you accept God’s will without judgement, you will live your life without fear and worry.
