How does one go from this worldly life experience to knowing God? The gateway to God is through the Spiritual Master. You have to connect with your Spiritual Master. To learn and understand the Truth you have to put forth your own effort to seek His answers with a guileless heart. Then, if you are ready your Guru will draw you closer. Know that even God incarnated on this earth must meet His Guru.
So, how will you know your Guru? Well, don’t worry. Your Guru will know you! When you hear or read His words, they will resonate within you as the Truth. With godly purity you fall in love with Him or Her.
Your Guru has always been in love with you. He reveals the Truth and shows you that the knowledge which you seek is already with you. The Guru will remove the coverings of Maya that keep the Truth hidden.
There are hardly words that can explain what the Guru does, nor is it possible for seekers to fathom the ins and outs of the Guru’s ways. He is the Divinity himself and has been given the job by His own Guru to go forth and teach.
A great Guru knows you. He knows that you are the one He is to teach. He meets your spiritual needs, and He knows how to guide you on your path. Your Guru is the Mother and the Father. He takes great care of you as He moves you forward to where it is you need to go.
You’ll be met at the level to which you have risen. You are a part of His coterie. Some people are born realized yet are covered by Maya. Some become realized in this life alone. Additionally, there are some people who are working on their journey of many lives and are simply nudged by their Guru in this life and will meet Him again in their next life.
Rest assured there are specific roles for each of His disciples. Do not compare yourself to any other. Your relationship with your Guru is personal, individual and intimate. Some people spend only a short time in this life with their Guru, but He is with you life after life, and when you can heed his words, He moves you forward on the path.
